My wife Marlene and I have ten years experience
working with released inmates and their families in inner city and central city ministries in Pomona and Fresno, California. We quickly discovered that, although desirous for relationships with Christ, a significant number of "jail house decisions" are largely based upon emotion rather than a firm, spiritual foundation. Upon release, these inmates find it difficult to stand up to their spiritual commitments made during incarceration as they go
back to the same environment, situations and temptations that led to their original breaking of the Law.
It is our intent to utilize Precept Ministries International's Inductive Bible Study methods and materials to work with decision-making inmates and help them build a strong, spiritual base upon which to stand. This spiritual base will equip them to better understand tests, temptations and trials, getting through these obstacles by relying on their biblically grounded faith in God.
